What does VenueSumo
actually cost?
Three tiers, no prices on their own site, and a payment processing rate that is published nowhere. Here is what is documented, what is not, and where the gates are.
Researched September 2026 from VenueSumo's published pricing page and the Gartner review network. Prices change; check before you sign.
Junior Sumo, Big Sumo, Enterprise
VenueSumo splits plans by your revenue rather than by feature need, so a small venue that wants a second waiver form has to move up a tier.
Junior Sumo
Venues under $1m revenue
flat rate, published by the Gartner review network rather than by VenueSumo
- 2 POS logins
- 1 waiver form
- Email ticketed support only
- 0% booking fee
Big Sumo
Venues over $1m revenue
quote only
- 6 POS logins
- Unlimited waiver forms
- Phone support
- 0% booking fee
Enterprise
$2m+ revenue or 5+ venues
quote only
- Unlimited POS logins
- White-label
- Dedicated hosting
- 0% booking fee
The 0% booking fee is real
VenueSumo commits to no booking fee on all three tiers, and that is a genuine, checkable commitment rather than a promotion. If a per-booking commission is what is hurting you today, that is a real answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Most of this page is about the things that are harder to see.
The limits that surprise people
VenueSumo's About page says "We don't hide features or add-ons from customers. Our pricing is all-inclusive." The published tier table gates four things.
One waiver form on the entry tier
Junior Sumo includes a single waiver form. A park that needs one for adults, one for minors and one for a special event has to move up a tier to get a second document.
POS logins are counted
Two logins on Junior Sumo, six on Big Sumo, unlimited on Enterprise. If you run more than two tills or want individual staff accounts, the tier is decided for you.
Phone support starts at the second tier
Junior Sumo is email ticketed support and the help centre. Phone support begins at Big Sumo, which is gated on turnover above $1m rather than on need.
Four to six weeks of onboarding
Their documented onboarding window is four to six weeks for data migration and payment integration. No setup fee is disclosed either way.
Three numbers you have to ask for
These are the figures that decide what you actually pay, and none of them appear on their site.
Payment processing rates
"Low payment processing rates" is one of their headline claims. The rate itself is published nowhere on their site, in the Gartner listings, or in any review. They operate as a payment facilitator under Adyen's master acquiring agreement, so the rate is theirs to set.
Big Sumo and Enterprise pricing
Only the entry tier has a public number, and it comes from the review network rather than from VenueSumo. If your venue turns over more than $1m you are quoting blind.
Their one published comparison is three years old
The single competitor page with an actual price table quotes A$650/month against a rival, footnoted "Prices checked 30th June 2023". It is still live in 2026.
Where we are genuinely not the same product
Not cheaper-than-them marketing. Four differences that hold up when you check them.
Guardian consent is asked, not assumed
VenueSumo's waiver lets one adult add unlimited minors with no relationship field and no per-minor consent. wakesys asks whether each child is the signer's own, blocks a non-guardian with a confirmation, and sends the real parent a link to sign from their own phone.
Server-recorded evidence
Their waiver fetches the signer's IP in the browser from a third-party service and posts it in a hidden field. wakesys records IP and user agent server-side and stores a SHA-256 hash of the submitted fields with a signature checksum, plus an archived PDF.
Built by people who run a park
We run Charleston Aqua Park on wakesys and spend our own money on the ads that fill it. Every feature exists because we needed it on a Saturday.
Actually works in Europe
wakesys runs in 14 countries with German, French and Spanish interfaces and fiscal compliance for Germany and Austria. VenueSumo has no European production customer, no hreflang, and no fiscal support of any kind outside Australian GST.
VenueSumo pricing, answered
What operators actually want to know before they get on a call.
How much does VenueSumo cost per month?
The entry tier, Junior Sumo, is listed at USD $300 per month flat rate. That figure comes from the Gartner review network (Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice), not from VenueSumo's own pricing page, which shows tiers without prices and asks you to request a quote. Big Sumo and Enterprise pricing is not published anywhere.
Does VenueSumo charge a booking fee or commission?
No, and this is genuine. Their published pricing table states 0% booking fee on all three tiers. What is not published is the payment processing rate. They act as a payment facilitator under Adyen's master acquiring agreement, so the card processing margin is set by them and appears nowhere in public. Ask for it in writing before you compare total cost.
What is gated behind the higher VenueSumo tiers?
The published table gates POS logins (2 on Junior Sumo, 6 on Big Sumo, unlimited on Enterprise), waiver forms (1 on Junior Sumo, unlimited above), support channel (email only on Junior Sumo, phone from Big Sumo), and white-label plus dedicated hosting on Enterprise. Tiers are set by your revenue rather than by which features you need.
Is there a setup fee, and how long does onboarding take?
No setup fee is disclosed either way. The documented onboarding window is four to six weeks, covering data migration and payment integration.
How does wakesys pricing compare to VenueSumo?
Different shape. VenueSumo prices on your revenue band and charges no booking fee. wakesys does not publish a per-tier table, because what a park pays depends on which of the platform it uses. The honest comparison is not headline price but total cost including the card processing margin, which VenueSumo does not publish. Ask both of us for that number in writing.
Is VenueSumo used outside Australia?
Mostly not. Independent enumeration of their live booking subdomains in September 2026 found 48 tenants across 156 venue locations, of which 116 are in Australia and New Zealand, 34 in the United States and 5 in South Africa. Their marketing claims adoption across Europe, but no European production tenant was found and there is no UK company registration despite a Bristol office being listed.
